"My Husband and I had our first baby in January 2010. Before our daughter was born, we had talked to friends and family members about day care providers throughout Bend. Being first time parents, we didn't know what we were looking for; we knew it had to be a safe and loving environment.

We interviewed at Crawmer's Critterz and had a list of questions going into the interview. Once the interview was over we realized that Ruth Crawmer had answered all our questions, without us asking. It was obvious to us she knew what parents were looking for and how tough of a decision this was for parents.

We started at Crawmer's Critterz in May 2010.  My husband  and I both work in the housing market. Daycare is not inexpensive and we knew how expensive it was to send our daughter to Crawmer's compared to others in town. We made the difficult decision to pull our daughter from Crawmer's and sent her to a new daycare in the area, which was significantly less expensive. We were positive and hopeful that the care would be just as good. After several months at the new daycare we realized the hard way that you get what you pay for. There truly is no price you can put on the care for your child. So Crawmer's graciously took us back!!

Compared to other daycare facilities; Crawmer's truly cares about the growth and development of your little one. You quickly realize how important the schedule and curriculum is even for your infant. The schedule that Miss Jess put our daughter on helped her sleep through the night at an early age. At the other facility our daughter slept in an open room where all the babies ate, slept and played, she would maybe sleep an hour a day. At Crawmer's they realize how important sleep is to your babies growth and happiness. Our daughter has the same sleep schedule every day and sleeps a minimum of 3hrs. It's nice to be able to take your baby home and they are happy and not exhausted from the stimulation and learning she receives.

This is a daycare that really cares about your needs as a parent and your child.  As you will soon realize it's very difficult to drop your child off and leave them in the hands of someone else, and trust they will be taken care of.

I know and have witnessed the love that my daughter receives. I could honestly say that the staff at Crawmer's treat my daughter as a family member and not a paycheck. They love her when my husband and I can’t while we work. I couldn't be happier and I know our daughter is!"

"The 'family' feeling at Crawmer's is one of the things that make it a truly special place.  It only takes a few minutes at one of the schools to see that the teachers and parents feel like family as much as the kids do.  The Crawmer family and the teachers are very accessible and will go out of their way to make themselves available to talk with parents about any questions or concerns - even about issues parents may have at home that don't directly affect school.  This level of support was completely unexpected from a preschool, but it has been so helpful, especially during times like potty-training!"

"I don't even know where to start!  First of all Tuck is so smart; when I see him play with other kids his age that don't go to Crawmer's I am so impressed by how advanced he is!  I totally attribute a large portion of that to Crawmer's.  Secondly I feel like the teachers actually love my child.  They seem to care about him and be invested in his learning.  Third, I love that is not 'daycare' it is school and he is actually learning something.  At least once a week he surprises us by knowing something that we had no idea he knew.

We are so incredibly happy that we chose Crawmer's!!!  It was the first place we looked at and it set the bar really high for everywhere else. We are happy, our child is happy, and social and growing and learning.  I can't say enough about how happy we are with our choice."

"Jack keeps raving about something you guys have for lunch--"chicken noona" (sp?). Is there any way that I could get the recipe?? He says it's the best food ever...and you know how picky he is so that means a lot! Way to go for finding something Jack likes! :-)"

"I was very nervous when I needed to find new daycare for my daughter, Ula.  At almost two, she was ready for preschool, but it was hard to find a quality preschool that would take a non-potty trained two year old.  I felt comfortable from the moment that I walked into Ruth and Russ's home and Ula loved playing so much that I had a hard time getting her to leave.  Since then Ula says, "school is cool" and loves going to school.  She used to cry on the drive to daycare, but she is happy to get in the car now!  It's very important to me that Ula is in a learning environment, and Crawmer's Critterz is set up to make learning fun.  Ula was potty trained soon after starting there!  Ula talks about Marshall (Ruth and Russ's son) all the time, so I know she is making friends there.  I wouldn't have Ula go anywhere else.  I highly recommend Crawmer's Critters for children of any age. “

"I would say that, with your help and support, it took about five or six days to train Cameron.  Sure, we still have accidents now and then and , sure, we still have some work to do ahead of us, but I am so glad to have gone through this developmental milestone with you as our, um, Tour Guides.  Thank you again for your enthusiasm and encouragement.  (And please make yourself available when Cameron goes on his first sleep over, loses his first tooth, and learns to drive.  I may need some more support and encouragement then.)”

"Thank you for taking the time and effort in helping us resolve Olivia sleep issues.  You are a very talented lady and don't ever compare yourself to those day care centers.  You could run rings around them!  You also should consider, someday writing a childcare book - you are as much of an expert than anybody.“

Thank you very much, Love Lucy

"Hi Ruth and Russ, A big thank you for the follow up on Benjamin's progress.  We are always curious to know how things are going and now we have some great feedback!  Know that it's very comforting to us to know that he's with caregivers like you that are truly concerned about this development and well being.  Even though we don't say it often enough, please know that we're proud to be associated with you two. “
